Foetal Cover Insurance
Foetal insurance is a great option for pregnant mares when you do not have a live foal guarantee on your stud fee.
Foetal cover can be taken out on a mare in foal from a 42-day positive scan and onwards. The expiry date of a foetal cover policy can either be 24 hours or 30 days after birth.
The cover is always subject to two negative twin scans, a current pregnancy certificate and a current vet certificate on the mare. The rates for this cover vary depending on the mare’s age, breeding history and location.
