The cover is always subject to a completed veterinary certificate for anything covered for over $100,000 or a completed declaration of health for anything insured for $100,000 or less based on the total value of the horse.
If any pre-existing illness or injury is noted on the forms, the underwriters have the right to request more information or any previous vet reports. They also have the right to place an exclusion on any pre-existing condition until it is fully recovered.
